This is to inform the public of the opportunity to provide input on the sub-allocation of funds of the proposed FY2024 Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) application. The application which was posted on September 6, 2023 must be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than October 11, 2023.
Albemarle Regional Health Services d/b/a Inter-County Public Transportation Authority administers this program on behalf of Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Camden, and Currituck counties. Those wishing to provide input on the sub-allocations of the funds listed below should contact Herb Mullen, Director of Transportation at 252-338-4480 before 12:00PM September 29, 2023.
The programs included in the Rural Operating Assistance Program application are:
- Elderly & Disabled Transportation Assistance (EDTAP) Program provides operating assistance for the public transportation of elderly and disabled citizens.
- Employment Transportation Assistance Program provides operating assistance for the public transportation of persons with employment related transportation needs.
- Rural General Public (RGP) Program provides operating assistance for the public transportation of persons living in non-urban areas of the county.
The period of performance for Rural Operating Assistance Program funds is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. The FY2023 ROAP individual program totals are:
