PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed Federal Section 5310 (Elderly and Disabled) Application, State Operating and Federal Section 5311 Community Transportation Program Applications to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than November 4, 2016. The public hearings will be held on October 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM before the Albemarle Regional Health Services Governing Board.

The goal of the Federal Section 5310 program is to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the country, by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding the transportation mobility options available.
If awarded, the Federal Section 5310 Program or State Operating Assistance applied for Albemarle Regional Health Services will provide services that exceed the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.) for Elderly and/or Disabled clients in the counties of Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Camden, and Currituck. These services will be provided using lift equipped vans and light transit vehicles. Services will be rendered by Inter-County Public Transportation Authority.
The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018
The Federal Section 5311Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Camden and Currituck Counties as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area. These services are currently provided using lift equipped vans and light transit vehicles. Services are rendered by Inter-County Public Transportation Authority.
These applications may be inspected at the Inter-County Public Transportation Authority office located at 110 Kitty Hawk Lane, Elizabeth City, NC from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Written comments should be directed to Herb Mullen, Director of Transportationbefore October 18, 2016.
